Well, the site, eligonier.com has been launched! If you are reading this, you found the site. While not fully developed, yet, we are up and are functional. There are quite a few things you can do on the site with a lot more to come.

I created this site so that residents, visitors, merchants--everyone that wants to--can communicate anything about our town of Ligonier, PA!

So, create a blog, chat in the forums, enter you business in the business index, post news about an event, anything you want, really. This is your site--the users!

Look for much more to come, such as: a gallery for your photos, a chat feature, more articles, more news, more fun blogs, games and just about anything else you can think of. Let me know what you think and what you would like to see on the site. We'll see what we can do about making it happen!

This site, ligonierpa.net, is meant to be a place where everyone has a voice. Did you attend a function in Ligonier? Why not tell everyone about it? Just start a blog! Every registered user can do so! It's easy to register and your information will never be sold or used for anything outside of the site.

This site has been in the works for many years and actually was live for several months a few years back. I ended up going in a different direction in my life and work for a spell, but have found my way back to full-time website design and my pet project!

I felt there was a need for a community user-driven site back then, and I am more convinced, now. I was involved in a great little business located in town for a year and a half. I got to listen to many other business owners, residents and tourists. Now, being back into the "techie" business again, I decided to go ahead and develop the site.

I could get into all the technical mumbo-jumbo about developing cms sites, the costs, the open-source projects behind the development of such and on and on... but, I think I'll save that for another time in another venue. Point is that the site is now here and much easier to manage just a few years later...all it needs is you!

So, go ahead and register, write a blog about your business, an event you are having, an opinion or perspective you want to share, write about the history of Ligonier, something funny or just memorable. You really can write about anything you like. There are some restrictions in that I just ask that content be kept to the facts and this will not be a venue for slander or gossip in any way. Bad language will not be tolerated in any way and those using such language will be immediately banned from the site. Anyone of any age is welcome and all areas are viewable to any age and I ask that you keep that in mind.

There are some great articles on the site currently about blogging, so read up and start writing! Would you like to become a regular contributor of articles to the Ligonierpa.net site?
